Paralympic Performance Health and Support Lead; Paralympic Assistant Coach
Brett Doring is a Specialist Sports & Exercise Physiotherapist (FACP) and strategic leader with over 15 years of experience in Australia’s high-performance sport system.
In his current role as the Para Performance Health & Support Lead at Swimming Australia, Brett specializes in designing and implementing national performance support frameworks that align a diverse system to drive international success.
Brett’s extensive clinical and high performance swimming experience across four Paralympic cycles uniquely bridges impairment specificity with the demands of high-performance swimming.
As the conduit between Swimming Australia’s data insights team and the Paralympic program, Brett is able to aggregate and interpret performance data to effectively direct systems and resources to optimize athlete outcomes, translating data into practical strategies that allow athletes to perform when it matters.
Casey Atkins is a coach at the UniSC Paralympic Swimming Hub and has worked with the Australian Para Dolphins program since 2022. In 2023, Casey was appointed as an Australian Team Coach (C153). She holds a Bachelor of Clinical Exercise Physiology and is currently undertaking a PhD investigating the factors that contribute to successful performance in Paralympic swimming.
Combining practical coaching expertise with research, Casey brings a unique and valuable perspective to the Paralympic high-performance environment. She is passionate about supporting the development and performance of para athletes, helping them maximise their potential and achieve success at both national and international levels. Casey also enjoys enhancing para literacy within the sporting community and supporting coaches to effectively work with and develop para athletes.
