Giaan Leigh Rooney OAM OLY is an Olympic gold medallist, world record holder, former Australian competitive swimmer and respected television presenter.

A celebrated member of the Australian Swim Team, Giaan represented Australia at the highest level, achieving success across Olympic, World Championship and Commonwealth Games competition. Her career highlight came at the 2004 Athens Olympic Games, where she was part of the Australian women’s 4 x 100 metre medley relay team that won gold and set a new world record. She also won two silver medals at the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games, further cementing her place as one of Australia’s accomplished swimming athletes.

Following her retirement from competitive swimming, Giaan successfully transitioned into media and broadcasting, building a strong career as a television presenter and event host. Known for her warmth, professionalism and natural ability to connect with audiences, she continues to be a highly regarded voice in Australian sport and media.

Giaan brings a unique blend of elite sporting experience, media expertise and authentic storytelling, making her a dynamic and engaging presence across major events, conferences and broadcast platforms.
