Horst Miehe

Horst is a distinguished swim coach renowned for his extensive experience, innovative coaching methods, and dedication to community engagement. His notable achievements include:​ Extensive Swim Coaching and Teaching Experience: With nearly three decades at HPK Swim Club and with Swimgym, he has expanded the program from just 70 squad swimmers and 400 learn to swim students to delivering approximately 12,000 lessons weekly across multiple Auckland locations. ​

Olympic Involvement: His expertise led to participation in four Olympic Games, including the 2024 Paris Olympics, reflecting a commitment to high-performance coaching. 

Community Initiatives: He has championed social programs like “Find Your Field of Dreams,” providing over 120,000 free swim lessons to over 20,000 South Auckland students annually, demonstrating a dedication to accessible swimming education. 

International Coaching Education: He has contributed to global swimming by training national-level coaches worldwide, through the World Aquatics program sharing knowledge and promoting excellence in the sport. ​

Business Leadership: He is currently involved as a Business Mentor and Coach and on the board of Entrepreneurs Organization New Zealand.
