Synopsis
Learn to Swim to 2032: Exploring Opportunities for Para Swimmers
As Australia looks ahead to Brisbane 2032, there is an exciting opportunity to strengthen pathways for para swimmers from the earliest stages of learn to swim through to participation, development and performance environments.
In this session, Jeremy O’Sullivan will explore how learn to swim programs can better recognise, support and create opportunities for swimmers with disability. The session will look at inclusive teaching practices, pathway awareness, confidence building and the role swim teachers and coaches play in helping para swimmers develop skills, enjoyment and a lifelong connection to the water.
